Masood Sharif Mahmood is a Member of the ENEC Board of Directors and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Etisalat UAE Operations.
Prior to that he was the CEO of Al Yah Satellite Communications Company (Yahsat), a UAE-based satellite communications operator, wholly owned by Mubadala Investment Company. Since his appointment as CEO in 2013, Masood has managed Yahsat’s operational capabilities on both a government and commercial level. He successfully expanded the global footprint of the business, having overseen Yahsat’s operations growth into 50 markets.
Prior to joining Yahsat, Masood was Vice President at Mubadala’s Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Unit. In his position, he was responsible for corporate strategy, as well as the asset management of ICT’s strategic portfolio.
Masood has well over 20 years of professional experience, with over ten years of experience in investment management and business development, Masaood has held executive positions within government and semi-government entities including Dubai Holding and the Executive Office of H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
He is a board member of the UAE Space Agency, Etihad Aviation Group and Yahsat.
Masood holds a Master’s Degree in Finance from McGill University in Canada and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Systems Engineering from Boston University in the U.S.
