Nawah Energy Company, the operations and maintenance subsidiary of the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC), is pleased to confirm that Unit 2 of the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant in Abu Dhabi has commenced commercial operations, a significant milestone achieved as a result of the world-class operating experience of the teams made up of UAE Nationals and international experts.
Generating an additional 1,400 MW of clean electricity 24/7, Unit 2 joins Unit 1 of the Barakah Plant to produce clean baseload electricity in the country. Nawah is committed to operating the plant in line with the UAE’s robust regulations and international best practice on our ongoing journey to operating excellence.
