The Emergency Response Center (ERC) at Al Ruwais is approximately 50 km away from Barakah Nuclear Power Plant. The ERC includes the following main facilities:
Alternative Technical Support Center (Alt TSC):
Located on the ground floor of the Emergency Response Center, this facility is utilized when the Technical Support Center (TSC) at the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant becomes uninhabitable or can no longer perform its designated function. In that case, TSC members will be relocated to Alt TSC to continue their emergency response activities.
Emergency Operation Facility (EOF):
Located on the first floor of the Emergency Response Center, this facility manages the emergency operations for activities within Barakah Nuclear Power Plant boundaries (Onsite Activities). EOF is operated by Nawah Energy Company.
Emergency Operation Center (EOC):
Located in the 2nd floor of the Emergency Response Center. It manages the emergency operations for activities outside Barakah Nuclear Power Plant boundaries (Offsite Activities), and Ministry of Interior (MOI) operates it.
There are two more facilities in the ERC - the Public Information Center (PIC) and Environmental Lab, which both belong to Nawah Energy Company.
